“Carry on Our Wayward Son” by Kansas comes to mind as I hear myself telling myself to ‘carry on’.
We are all carrying on, living our lives just now. It is not always the easiest thing to do during these times of great change, high emotions and deeply rooted issues.
I woke up early this morning to get ready for the AC contractors to come and spend the day installing a whole new system. The inside cooling unit and the outside fan unit.
Ha. ‘Carrier’ used to be a very popular brand of AC units. I’m uncertain where their standings are today. As I google them, they still seem to be fully ‘in the game’ and it looks like 1970’s were their ‘sweetest spot’. Still in the top 5 now; if I can believe what I read.
(Questioning what I read is a very real, day to day experience for me.)
And, as I ‘carry on’ in this moment, I am grateful for air conditioning especially living in South Florida in the summertime. I do not take it for granted; most of the time anyway.
The pleasures that we are blessed with are, indeed, very pleasurable.
May you notice the ‘pleasures’ in your life, thank them and be grateful for them. What blessings they offer You. The good and comfortable in your life. It is real. It matters. You matter. Open to all your blessings.
“Carry on our wayward son is an anthem of self-encouragement and spiritual searching, focusing on overcoming life’s confusion to find peace and purpose.” Written by Kerry Liovgren. Performed by Kansas. Google.
No matter what ‘carry on’ looks like or feels like to you just now – Honor your ‘carrying on’. Feel it. Participate with it. Thank it. It may be supportive. It may be a lesson. It may be a goal. It may be unknown. It is productive. It is part of You. It is part of your life now and moment to moment.
It may be a call to ‘awaken’ to something new. A new way. A new calling. A new opportunity. A new way of seeing yourself. A new way of seeing, period.
“I can’t predict what will happen, Frankie. That’s one of life’s biggest frustrations and greatest gifts.” From the book “A Perfect Storm” by Carley Fortune.
May you allow your own awareness to be available and present. Perhaps, even step outside of yourself and look at yourself and your life from your own outside perspective. Live on.
May you be true to You. May you let your love dominate/influence your next step. One step at a time.
There is always something beautiful to bask in. Just look for it.
